2021 'VIRTUAL' Edition

After a pandemic-stricken postponement in 2020 many hoped and prayed the Australasian Gaming Expo would return this year, but COVID reared its ugly head again and the AGE had to be postponed again in 2021.

The GTA worked with the ICC Sydney to find alternate dates, but largely due to its size, this proved impossible.

The 31st AGE will now run from 9 to 11 August 2022. More information HERE.

Soldiering on, we have worked with dozens of companies that were due to exhibit at the Expo to assemble some of the highlights and news that would have been on show at the ICC from 10-12 August 2021.

All pubs will be open again soon, and customers will be eager to experience the latest and greatest on offer in gaming and hospitality, much of it emanating from the hard-working AGE exhibitors in the pages that follow.

The Show Must Go On

Scientific Games (SG) is moving forward with a game series that has been making noise for all the right reasons in 2021 – Kraken Unleashed.

Inspired by the mythical sea monster of Norse folklore, this game series continues to garner a growing presence in gaming rooms all around Australia and is fast becoming one of SG’s all-time best-selling product lines, based on its continuing high performance.

Kraken Unleashed combines familiar and popular game elements like the hold-and-spin and persistent symbols with original new features, and the current three-game series will soon welcome its fourth instalment with the arrival of Storm Maiden.

Our next showstopper will be the ground-breaking Fat Fortunes™ series, which introduces an exciting Growing+Roaming Wild feature. Fat Fortunes Fat Cat and Puffy Penguin have both hit the market in early August, and while it’s very early days, the performance has certainly lived up to its Fat Fortunes name.

SG is also currently updating its digital marketing platform to enable customers viewing access to products that were to debut at the Australasian Gaming Expo. Marketing manager Sandra Renwick added “SG’s Summit and Virtual Experience in February was an opportunity for us to showcase what we had planned to display at the AHG, in Brisbane. While we would have loved to be able to be there in person for the Australasian Gaming Expo, our customers’ feedback was that the Virtual Experience product rooms were very useful, so we’re updating those to bring our AGE line-up to everyone digitally.”
